Fencing, net structure installed; field is 160` x 230`
The work on the (multi-purpose) soccer field continues on the Prescott Campus of Yavapai Community College. According to the August 2020 Facilities Management Newsletter, work continues with the “installation of soil, fencing/net structure, and rip rap for around the parameter of the new field. When finished, the field will measure 160’ x 230’ and is located just north of Kachina Hall.”
The project has been funded through the Yavapai College Foundation. When completed, it will consist of an irrigated grass field, fence, and netting along with a gravel path around the exterior.
It is noted that the only athletic fields in the District that consists of two campuses and four centers are in Prescott/Prescott Valley. There are none on the east side of the County.

The Yavapai Community College District Governing Board was provided a detailed explanation at its August meeting for the reasons fall sports were moved to spring 2021. Vice President Rodney Jenkins explained that the decision was made because “every scenario we looked at, there was a percentage of student athletes and or coaches and staff who would contract” Covid-19.
With the cancellation of the softball season, Yavapai Community College has been making improvements to its baseball and softball fields. An earlier Blog outlined improvements made to the baseball field.
Fifty-seven of Yavapai Community College’s athletic team members made the Athletic Director’s Honor roll in spring 2020. In order to qualify, a student athlete must have attained a 3.0 grade point average or above.
The Yavapai Community College Athletic Department announced that BlueFrame Technology will be its official streaming partner starting on July 1, 2020. The company will produce live and archived broadcasts through Yavapai’s ‘channel’ on BlueFrame’s Team1Sports network. The network is available on Apple TV, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Roku. The Yavapai Community College Roughriders volleyball team is making a strong showing this year with a 13-2 overall record along with seven straight victories. They have an overall 5-0 record in their conference as of October 4.
last five games. It is now 9-3 on the season and 2-2 in conference play. They turned around their losing streak October 3 with a victory over Chandler-Gilbert Community College.
$175. The fee for campers staying overnight in Yavapai College housing is $400. Meals and activities are included in the camp fee and campers are under adult supervision at all times.
The Yavapai Community College Coach and Staff will host a free soccer coaching clinic on July 17 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on the Verde Valley Campus. The clinic will take place in Building 19, Room 215. The event is free. No prior registration is required.
